'That was not how it was represented to me'

It's betrayal on the witness stand in the Knox County Sunshine lawsuit trial, the News-Sentinel reports. Meanwhile, KNS blogger Michael Silence notes that there are 19 commissioners, "five or six" of whom are supposedly trying to do the right thing, one witness told jurors.   1. This trial in Knoxville could be the most positive thing for every news organization in the state. It has already shown there are corrupt local leaders. It has already proven a heightened awareness of corruption is needed in every community. It has also shown the need for a really tough open meetings/records law in Tennessee. Most importantly, however, it is showing how effective a newspaper can be when it has guts enough to go to court.
